Oksana Salamatina
Oksana Salamatina earned her Master’s degree in Gallery Art Administration from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Her career in the arts was shaped early on by a Peggy Guggenheim Scholarship, which took her to Venice to study at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. Since then, she has worked alongside some of the world’s most esteemed art institutions, including Sotheby’s, Christie’s, and the Smithsonian, helping bring significant exhibitions and ambitious cultural initiatives to fruition.
In her work as a children’s author, she extends that same artistic vision into the literary world, creating stories that honor imagination, cultural connection, and the timeless values of beauty, curiosity, and friendship.

Thank you to my Illustrator
When I first imagined the Marsel book, I knew that finding the right illustrator would be one of the most important parts of the entire journey. I was incredibly lucky to find Svetlana Makhrova, a truly gifted artist, whose beautiful work brought Marsel to life with so much heart, personality, and grace. Her contribution became an essential part of what makes this project so meaningful.
